ONLINE POSTNATAL MUM & BABY YOGA 

ABOUT THESE CLASSES

Designed to bring you 'back together' after birth using yoga breathing, toning, strengthening, stretching and relaxing techniques. You needn't have done any yoga before, to benefit from these classes.

Classes are suitable for women following a satisfactory six or eight week postnatal check-up, and for babies up to crawling.  

Babies are incorporated into the class with songs, movement and lots of cuddles, but the main focus of the class is on YOU. 

Please don't worry if your baby fusses or cries throughout the session - that's the way it goes sometimes! Your baby may sleep peacefully all the way through the next class. Either way you will still have benefitted from the experience of being out in a supportive environment *virtually* with other mummies and babies.

USEFUL INFORMATION


  • All postnatal yoga students must fill out a health information questionnaire prior to joining the class. This information will be kept in strict confidence. It will help me to adjust your practice according to your needs.
  • You can begin postnatal yoga anytime following a satisfactory six or eight week postnatal check-up if you've had a vaginal birth, 10 week for a csection.
  • The class is time for you to feel nurtured and comforted. Always practice at your own pace, and be sure to come to a resting position at any time during the class should you feel you need to.  
  • Please feel free to feed and change your baby during the class, as you need to.

ONLINE CLASS PROTOCOL 

You will also need to set-up a ZOOM account HERE, and download the ZOOM app if you are planning to use your phone or tablet/ipad.

The class link will be sent automatically with your booking confirmation.  You will also get a reminder five hours before the class containing the link. These emails will come from TeamUp, not from me.  The 'waiting room' will be open 10 minutes prior to the class start time. I'd suggest you sign in sooner rather than later to allow for any tech glitches, get settled, etc.  Make sure your volume is up, and camera on. You can mute your mic as needed and turn your camera on or off as you choose.  To protect your privacy these live sessions will not be recorded.

Wear normal comfortable clothes, sweatpants, pyjama bottoms, up to you!  You may need a yoga or exercise mat, yoga block (like this one HERE), a cushion (sofa cushion or small pillow) and a blanket. Feel free to do whatever you need with/for your baby during the class.

ABOUT ME

I am the mother of three children all born in London, one at King's and two at home.  In addition to holding a Level 4 Diploma in teaching yoga from the British Wheel of Yoga (BWYQ), I have completed the British Wheel of Yoga Pregnancy Yoga Module with Judy Cameron, and am qualified to teach postnatal through the Birthlight Foundation under Francoise Barbira Freedman.
